Masie Lou Haywood

Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mrs. Masie Lou Haywood, age 82 of Washington Street Mitchell, Georgia, who died Friday, April 29, 2016.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 2, 2016 in the Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson with Rev. Jacky Downs officiating. Burial will follow in the Mitchell Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be: Jeremy Kelley, Josh Whitehead, Michael Reese, Joey Wheeler, Tyler Sammons and Gary Cooper.

Mrs. Haywood was a native of Warren County but had lived in Mitchell most of her life. She was a daughter of the late Odell & Tiny Whitehead. She had worked many years in the textile industry and retired from Gibson Health & Rehabilitation as a dietitian.

Masie was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earnest Allen Haywood; sisters, Lizzie Johnson & Helen Brooks; and brother, Otis Whitehead and is survived by son, Jimmy & Alicia Haywood of Gibson; daughters, Luann & Jimmy Marsh of Louisville, Betty & Ricky Sammons of Gibson, and Shirley Haywood of Gibson; sister, Edith Hayes of Gibson; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.     

The Haywood family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
