Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mrs. Anita Louise Heit, age 82 of Louisville, who died Saturday evening September 4, 2021, in the Doctors Hospital Augusta.

A Celebration of Life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday September 18, 2021, in the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church with Father Patrick Otor officiating.

Because of the family’s respect and concern for public health and safety during this COVID-19 pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. The wearing of face masks is strongly encouraged during any gathering.

A native of Philadelphia, PA., Anita was the daughter of the late John Daniel Fleming and Anna Lockhart Fleming. She was a member of the St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church. She retired from the United States Postal Service and was a childcare giver. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

Anita is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and survived by her sons, Wilbert Thompson of Louisville, John (Allison) Thompson of Philadelphia, PA., daughter, Susan (Larry) Atkins of Augusta, granddaughters, Raushanna Thompson of Philadelphia, PA., Chantell Thompson of Philadelphia, PA., Chanel (Walter) Thompson of Holmes, PA., Sabria Pinckney of Atlanta, Aliyah Atkins of Augusta, grandsons, Michael Thompson of Dallas, TX., Kenneth Thompson of Virginia Beach, VA., Robert Davis of Philadelphia, PA., great grandchildren, Mhalik, Robert, Semaya, and several friends.
