Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services of Mr. Donald Lake “Don” Williams, age 83, of Bermuda Drive Louisville who died Friday evening January 13, 2023, at his residence.
Funeral services to celebrate his life will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday January 17, in the Louisville First Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Montgomery & Rev. Jonathan Melchior officiating. Burial will follow in the Louisville City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike McDowell, J. E. Davis, Tim Williams, Robbie Brett, Robert Mixon, and Bill Mixon. Honorary Pallbearers will be the T.W. Wilson Sunday School Class.
A native of Wrens, Don was a son of the late Lake Thurston Williams and Emmie Mae Sheppard Williams. He was a 1957 graduate of Wrens High School and served in the Army National Guard. Don retired in 1991 after 32 years of service as a Surveyor with the Georgia Department of Transportation. He was a faithful member of Louisville First Baptist Church for more than 65 years.
Mr. Williams was preceded in death by his parents, 2 infant daughters, and 1 infant son, and is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Janice Pickard Williams, daughter & son in-law, Wanda & Tommy Mixon, of Estill, SC., son & daughter in-law, Kevin & Christine Williams, of Starkville, MS., sister, Kathryn Dye, of Grovetown, brothers, & sisters in-law, Billy & Darla Williams, of Martinez, Bruce & Colleen Williams, of Wrens, granddaughter, Alexandra Williams, grandson, Knox Williams, several nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday January 16, 2023, at Taylor Funeral Home in Louisville.
