Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mrs. Elda Shull, 87, of Louisville, formerly of Black Lake, Onaway, MI who passed away from complications due to Alzheimer’s on Friday April 23, 2021 in Louisville, GA, while she was staying with her daughter.
The youngest of three daughters, Elda was born in Akron, OH, where after graduating from high school she went to work for Western Electric. There she met and married Bill Shull and enjoyed raising their two children, Beth and Adam. After living in OH, NJ, GA, Bill and Elda retired to Black Lake, MI.
She took pride in making her home a welcome place for all where you would always find her famous homemade cookies. She spent her day making crafts of all kinds, but she was most known for her crosses which you can find hanging from rearview car mirrors from GA to MI. She also spent time volunteering at the hospital in Cheboygan, MI.
Her true joy in life came from her surviving family of two children, four grandchildren and one grand grandchild, daughter Beth Shull Davis (Geary) and grandson Zack of Louisville, GA; son, Adam Shull (Stacie) and grandchildren, Sydney Shull Weber (Kyle) and great granddaughter, Millie of Cumming, GA and Steele and Sallie of Suwanee, GA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Shull of Black Lake, MI, elder sisters Laverne Kuczkowski of Tappen Lake, OH and Charlotte Mahrer Dory of Lake Worth, FL as well as her mother and father, Mildred and Eric Johnson of Maple Heights, OH.
The memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Black Lake Association at PO Box 302, Onaway, MI 49765 in remembrance of Elda Shull.
