Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and funeral services for Gloria Zipperer Oglesby, age 66 of Wadley who died Monday morning November 21, 2022, at her residence.
Funeral services will be held on 2:00 PM Friday, November 25, 2022, in the Jackson's Baptist Church in Sandersville with Rev. Fred Morrison and Rev. Mike Jones officiating. Pallbearers will be Brad Zipperer, Shaun Jones, Lamar Zipperer, Matthew Howard, Jonathan Long, and Josh Zipperer. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Oglesby was a native of Sylvania but had lived in Wadley for many years. She is a daughter of Herbert Shelley Zipperer and Ruby Beasley Zipperer and was a member of Jackson's Baptist Church. She retired from Washington State Prison after 20 years of service as a corrections officer.
Mrs. Oglesby is predeceased by her parents and is survived by her husband Eugene (Gene) Oglesby of Wadley, a daughter Shelli Rogers of Waynesboro, a son Adam Oglesby (AJ) of Goldsboro, NC, grandsons William Rogers of Waynesboro, Isaac Oglesby of Goldsboro, NC, granddaughters Emma Rogers of Waynesboro, Lilian Oglesby of Goldsboro, NC, Louisa Oglesby of Goldsboro, NC, Son in law Richard Rogers of Waynesboro, Daughter in law Lesley Oglesby of Goldsboro, NC, Sisters Rusti Jones (Mike) of Davisboro, Bo Vining (Rodney) of Metter, Penni Overstreet (Al) of Sylvania, Brothers Herman Zipperer of Davisboro, Lewis Zipperer (Arlene) of Sylvania, Sister in Law Sharon Zipperer of Girard, and numerous nieces, nephews and lifelong friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church on Friday.
