Joseph James Obituary

Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death and services of Mr. Joseph Lando James, 86 of Martinez formerly of Louisville who died, Saturday April 24, 2021 in University Hospital.

Graveside services will be held 10:00AM Saturday May 1, 2021 in the Curlew United Methodist Church Cemetery in Palm Harbor, FL. with Rev. Brian James officiating. Service can be viewed on the Taylor Funeral Home website at www.taylorfhlouisville.com

A native of Dunedin, Florida, Mr. James was the son of the late Wilmer H. James and late Frances Lando James. He graduated from the University of Florida in 1957 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and graduated from the University of South Florida in 1969 with a Master’s in Business Administration. He served in the National Guard for nine years. Mr. James was retired from Thermo King, after 15 years as the Human Resource Manager. He was a member of Louisville United Methodist Church, and a member of the Louisville Rotary Club where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Wilmer A. James, and survived by his wife, Mary Lane James of Martinez, sons, Stanley J. (Deborah) James of Williamson, GA, Stephen L. (Tina) James of Grovetown, daughter, Christie L. (David) Barker of Houston, TX., sister in-law, Shirley James, of Dunedin, FL., grandchildren, Katelyn (Michael) Gibbs of Senoia, Christopher (Haylie) James of Grovetown, Nicholas (Mary) James of Grovetown, Justine James of Alberta, AL., Rebecca James of Grovetown, Zoey Barker of Houston, TX., Ethan Barker of Houston, TX., great grandchild, Chloe Watson of Alberta, AL, several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Family will receive friends 6:00 till 8:00 PM Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at the funeral home.
