Taylor Funeral Home of Gibson announces the death of Mrs. Sandra Gail Usry Norton, age 70 of Avera, who died Monday, February 8, 2021 in her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday February 11, 2021 in the Sheppard Memorial of Taylor Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Owen officiating. Burial will follow at Magnolia Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mitchell Spell, Stanley Walden, Jeff Perdue, Brian Newsome, Ray Treadway, and Jack Kirkendall. Because of the family’s concern for public health and safety during this pandemic, the family requests that social distancing and other safety precautions be followed. Sandra is a native of Louisville was the daughter of the late Gail Usry. She previously was employed at Fleming Drugs, had owned, and operated Sure Way Mediport and for several years was Activate Director at several local nursing homes. She was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Gail Usry, and is survived by her husband, Bob Norton, mother, Annette Dukes Usry, daughter, Laura Marie Kitchens (Dean) of Avera, granddaughter, Megan Marie Walden (Stanley Michael) of Twin City, grandson, Mitchell Paul- Augustus Spell (Ashley Zoey-Marie) of Gibson, great-grandchildren, Skyler Layton Waldon, Maci Anne Walden, Maddie Marie Walden, Colten Augustus Spell, Savannah Faith Spell, several nieces, nephews, and friends.
There will be an open visitation Wednesday, February 10, 2021 from 11:00AM until 5:00PM at the funeral home.
