Taylor Funeral Home of Louisville announces the death of Mrs. Sylvia Lynn Day, age 59 of West Calhoun Street in Wadley who died Sunday morning November 21, 2021, in the Augusta University Hospital.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday November 24, 2021, in the Josey Baptist Church in Bartow with Rev. Clark Smith officiating. Burial will follow in the Josey Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jared Sapp, Daniel Sapp, Frank Wood, Jr., Emmitt Reese, Sr., Ollie Freeman & J.T. Thorne.

Sylvia was a lifelong resident of Jefferson County. She was a daughter of the late Leon Clarence Clark & Lena Amerson Clark. She was a member of Josey Baptist Church for more than 30 years. Sylvia had worked for Wadley Shirt Factory, CVS Pharmacy & Dollar General in Sandersville. Mrs. Day loved to cook for her family & friends and going to the mountains but her greatest pastime was spending time with her grandchildren. She was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Mrs. Day was preceded in death by her parents, and a grandson, Jeremy Blake Meadows and is survived by spouse, Frank Wood, Sr., of Wadley, son Jeremy & Carrie Meadows, of Adrian, grandchildren, Kimberly Radford, Hailey Lyon Meadows and Conner Meadows, sisters Margaret and Johnny York of Wadley, Dianne Irby of Augusta, Audrey Clark of Gibson, Sharon Wheeler and Roger of Swainsboro and Karen Reese and Emmet of Hepzibah, brother L.C. Clark Sr. and Teresa of Bartow and beloved fur baby Princess, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Because of the unexpected nature of Sylvia’s death, the family respectfully asks that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions be made directly to Taylor Funeral Home, 401 West 8th Street Louisville, GA 30434 to help with expenses.

The family will receive friends Wednesday November 24, from 12:00 till 2:00 PM prior to the services at Josey Baptist Church.
